I was on an afternoon out taking photos in Leeds, when I managed to get this shot, which is a favourite of mine. I like the mix of the old, the cobbled street, and the new, the infamous ‘Dalek’, the tallest building in Leeds.

Sunset over Scafell Pike
Feb 26 2010

Scafell Pike is England’s highest mountain.
This was a shot taken on the way down Scafell Pike. We’d started the climb a bit late so it was beginning to get dark as we made our way down from the top—and it was pitch black by the time we reached the bottom which was pretty scary! However, I managed to get a shot of the amazing sunset over Wastwater so it wasn’t all bad!
Winter scene over Harden
Feb 25 2010
Harden is a small village in West Yorkshire.
This was a photograph taken on a wintry walk in Harden, after the recent snow. The shot almost looks like a black and white one with the contrast of the sun and clouds against the shadows.

View across Blackpool beach
Another shot from Blackpool. Obviously it’s taken into the sun, but I think this has made the light and shadows really strong. I was initially taking the shot in the other direction when a bird flew past and I decided to follow it round and took it silhouetted against the sun.
Tilt-shift of Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Tilt-shift taken in Blackpool
This is a shot taken in Blackpool last December. I loved the brightly coloured buildings on the Pleasure Beach, but when I got home I realised it might make a nice tilt-shift, so I edited it in Photoshop. I’m pretty pleased with the result, as it looks a bit like a toy town (ironically the name of one of the shops!)
